Step 1:
Select the programme for which you would like to have tickets.
Once you have decided on a programme (city tour or combination tickets), you must select a date when booking your tickets. Not sure which day you would actually like to start your city tour? No problem, you can also redeem your ticket on a different date. Our local staff will be happy to help you at any time.
Tickets for the Alster tour and the harbour tour are OPEN TICKETS, which are not fixed to a specific date; you can start them whenever you like.
Step 2:
Select the number of tickets.
Step 3:
Payment:
You must at least enter your email address and select the payment method. A summary of your order, including the total amount to be paid, is always displayed here.
Once you have entered your data and checked your order, please click on the field ‘Order now with obligation to pay’.
The payment process will then be carried out and you will receive a confirmation of your order. Further details can be found in the FAQ ‘How do I get my tickets?’.
As soon as you have completed the booking process, you will see an electronic, print-ready ticket on your screen with the prompt ‘DOWNLOAD TICKET’. At the same time, you will receive an email ‘Do-not-reply – Your Online Ticket’ from our ticket service provider Palisis, where you can access your previous bookings and tickets at any time and print them out if necessary.
Please come to the bus with the electronic ticket on your mobile phone or with the printed ticket and redeem it with our on-site staff. This is done by scanning the QR code. The scan activates your ticket and our staff on site will provide you with a day-specific ticket that you can use to start your city tour experience. Please take good care of the ticket – you will need to show it when you re-board the bus. Please also note that lost tickets cannot be replaced.
- Your ticket is valid all day as long as we are running – you can get on and off at any stop
- No liability for delays due to traffic problems and diversions
- Programme and timetable subject to change
- Boarding depending on available seating capacity
- When booking online, a date must be selected; it is possible to redeem the ticket on a different date
When booking online, you can pay with most credit cards (VISA, MasterCard, Diners Club, JCB) or via PayPal.
Our employees accept card payments or cash on site.

It’s easy! Just visit our city map page.
You can also use the ‘Live bus tracking’ map on our home page – it shows you the nearest stops and offers real-time bus tracking! Don’t forget that you need to enable location services and data on your mobile device to use these features (check with your mobile/cellular service provider regarding data roaming costs).
Stay tuned! Big cities present all kinds of challenges for our drivers. They are doing their best to reach you as quickly (but safely) as possible. If you haven’t already done so, visit the ‘Live bus tracking’ map on the home page of our website to see if there is a bus heading in your direction, thanks to real-time bus tracking.
The rear bus door is the entrance for passengers with wheelchairs and pushchairs. Wheelchair users can board the bus via a mobile ramp. There is space for one wheelchair or pushchair inside the bus. Please also note that passengers with limited mobility may not be able to access the upper deck of our buses.
Severely disabled passengers who are significantly restricted in their ability to walk (disability code G), are helpless (disability code H), are deaf (disability code Gl) or are blind (disability code Bl) can apply to the pension office for a supplement with their severely disabled person’s pass with an orange-coloured area printed on it. The supplement entitles them to free travel on local public transport throughout Germany, and so they travel free of charge on the red double-deckers on route A when they present their ID card and the supplement with the token. Severely disabled persons whose pass entitles them to take one companion (code B) can take one companion with them free of charge – even if the severely disabled person does not have a supplementary sheet with a valid token.
First, check the validity of your ticket. If you bought your ticket online and it has not yet been scanned by one of our local staff, it is still valid for up to 3 months after the selected travel date. If you wish to postpone your trip by more than three months, please contact us and we can then rebook your ticket.
If you have purchased your ticket on site or it has already been scanned by one of our local staff and we have cancelled our services due to weather conditions, you can request a refund.
When booking, you must select the date on which you wish to board the bus. If you are unable to make it on the selected date, no problem. You can take the city tour on a different day, as the ticket is only activated when it is scanned by the bus driver and then the current date is automatically printed.
That’s not a problem! Simply show your voucher(s) or ticket(s) to one of our on-site staff members, who will scan the QR code and hand over your Line A tour tickets. Don’t lose them, they are like gold (cash) and cannot be replaced.
Your four-legged friends can also travel for free on the red Double-Deckers. But please note: dogs must wear a muzzle if they could pose a risk to other passengers. And, of course, dogs must always be kept on a lead. In addition, while animal passengers are welcome to obey commands such as ‘sit!’, please do not claim one for yourself.
Food and alcohol are not allowed on board the bus. You are allowed to bring non-alcoholic beverages in bottles with screw caps.
No, at the moment it is not allowed to take luggage on board.
